Step into the heart of Buffalo’s industrial past and witness the remarkable transformation of Silo City. As the site of the world’s largest collection of historic grain silos, Silo City has become a hub of urban regeneration and vibrant biodiversity. Urban regeneration recognizes that urban spaces are shared by humans and various other species, and necessitates carefully considering the interactions within these shared environments.
Join us on a tour that explores this unique urban ecosystem. Discover the flourishing ecological restoration projects underway amidst these historic structures. We will visit Silo City’s native plant nursery where local native plants are propagated for restoration projects and to support native pollinators.
Following the tour, join us at Duende for a drink and some good conversation about the remarkable journey of urban restoration and biodiversity. Spots are limited so don’t wait to register for this unique event!
