Battling Food Inequity With Just Access to Farmland

Join SBR for the first event in our summer series on food equity with a tour of the Providence Farm Collective. The Providence Farm Collective (PFC) is a non-profit farm that provides access to rural farmland to under-resourced communities as well as farming and business education, technical assistance, markets, and the opportunity to farm for income. PFC’s vision is to empower just and equitable access to food and farmland.
The event will kick off with the Providence Farm’s Monday Market, where the 20+ farms at PFC sell a wide range of seasonal produce, including unique, culturally important vegetables. A tour of the farm will follow (wear sneakers!). Networking opportunities and refreshments will be available concluding the tour.
